Genesis Buys US-Made Auradine Bitcoin Miners Amid Tariff Concerns

Genesis Digital Assets (GDA) has purchased an order for 1,000 air-cooled Teraflux AT2880 miners from U.S. bitcoin ASIC chip maker Auradine.
GDA said in a release on Monday that the new machines, rated at up to 260 TH/s with an energy efficiency of 16 J/TH, will be installed at its GDA’s 40-megawatt data center in Glasscock County, Texas. The machines would account for about 10% of the facility’s capacity.
The deployment marks a strategic move by GDA to scale operations with domestically manufactured equipment, as the U.S. government considers broadening tariffs on Chinese-made technology, which may include bitcoin mining hardware.
“This partnership supports both our operational goals and our commitment to sustainability,” said Abdumalik Mirakhmedov, executive president of GDA. He noted the new machines will also support Texas’s grid through participation in ERCOT’s demand response program, which compensates miners for curbing power usage during periods of peak demand.
The announcement comes amid rising geopolitical and supply chain concerns in the Bitcoin mining sector, which could impose significant cost burdens on mining operations that rely on Chinese ASIC suppliers such as Bitmain, MicroBT, and Canaan.
Earlier this month, U.S. mining giant MARA disclosed that around half of its 2025 hardware orders were placed with Auradine. MARA has also invested directly in the startup, helping fund its development of the Teraflux line.
